Our movement trays are light, affordable, won't chip or rust, and hold onto your models so you can spend more time playing and less time moving your soldiers into place.

They are fully rimless and precision cut meaning you can ensure your models are always where they are supposed to be. No longer do you need to measure coherency or other distances to know who is range for attacks, as the locations precisely ensure you know exactly where your models are while making your units easy to move across the tabletop.

The magnetic nature of our trays allow your models to easily stick to the rimless tray, and also easily pop them off when need to. The magnetic strength has been dialed in to perfectly be the strength to make the trays useful while not causing problems when the battles get messy.

They are made from a unique and customized magnetic vinyl that will stick to any type of magnetic material - magnets, steel, other magnetic vinyl, and more. The direction of the magnets don't matter, and there's no need to make any changes if your armies are already magnetized.

No need to use expensive magnets on your armies either - since our movement tray itself is the magnet simple (ferrous \ magnetic) steel washers, shot, or strike plates glued to the base work great. Just make sure the metallic or magnetic surface is fully in contact with the movement tray for the best grip.

These trays are amazing! They're strong enough to keep models in place for gaming/transport and to hold upside-down. It's also easy to slightly tilt a model and pick it up without moving the tray. Even with just two on the tray, removing only one model was easily done by slightly tilting the model first. They're only 1mm thick and have no protruding edges, so if you're wanting a super low profile tray, these are great.

They very cleverly used a super thin sticker in the center of each tray to label them with the Gray Matter Gaming logo. The sticker doesn't interfere with using the tray at all, regardless of which side you have on top.

I hot glued 1/2" steel strike plates to my bases, flush with the bottom to be in contact with the tray. Since the trays are themselves magnets, magnetized bases stay put very well. The 2mm x 5mm N52 magnets I tested were more strongly attracted to both sides of the tray than the strike plates.

One side of the tray is very noticeably magnetically stronger. I put my models on the tray (stronger side on top) and then on a sheet of galvanized steel roofing shingle that's glued inside a box. They stayed put when held upside-down, even with a gentle shake. You can choose the strength of attraction by using the other side of the tray. You can easily fine tune the attraction by using a different size magnet/strike plate/washer etc. or by creating a gap between the tray and the magnetic bit.

As far as using them on a game table, they slide easily on neoprene using either side of the tray. The surfaces of both sides are very smooth. The entire tray is fairly easy to pick up from the sides using one hand if I lift an edge model to raise the tray enough to slide fingers underneath. I pinched the base and tray together to get a comfortable grip. There is some flex to the tray, but the models felt secure to me.

The bases will all touch each other when aligned to match the tray's footprint. Since I glued the metal in the center of my bases, I found plenty of room to slide the models outward for a slightly larger unit footprint.

For the price, I think they're an awesome value. Their low profile is perfect if you want a tray that's practically invisible when full of models. I'm very confident the models won't slide or fall off with some jostling. If you transport with magnetic or magnetically receptive surfaces, then these will work great for that. You can just pull the entire unit straight from storage to table for faster setup. They use space efficiently since they're so thin and precision cut with no outer edges/lips. I'm loving them!
